Serving during COVID-19 @ India and Nepal

During the COVID crisis and the lockdowns in many parts of the world, the under-privileged and marginalized communities took the brunt of the impact. Daily wages disappeared and with no savings or land holdings to subsist on. Access to food and staving off hunger became critical to millions around the world.

Srishti Foundation did its small part in helping out the most needy/underprivileged  families in remote areas of India & Nepal.

India – Partnering with Lokamangalam Trust, a registered charity in Gujarat, India, we were able to support and provide a few 1000 cooked meals and food kits, in the remote village of Khoba, and nearby town of Dharampur in Valsad district of Gujarat during the early days of the Lockdown. The people included daily wage labourers, street dwellers in Dharampur town and the Adivasi communities of Khoba. Food was cooked by our volunteers to help reduce costs and eliminate waste and served to pre-determined groups of people in the worst effected areas. Distribution was also carried out by our volunteers. In Khoba, the children and adults of the Adivasi communities were served with food at the Lokamangalam Trust Ashram premises.
